The Toollogic Sl1 Survival Knife offers all these features in a very compact and functional shape The SL1 blade is designed around an all-round utility shape for the sharp 3" blade. It has enough point to be useful, yet it is softened with a steep drop profile at the tip. The blade has sufficient curve for most field chores and can be opened or closed easily and safely with just one hand. 50/50 serrations add the utility of both cutting and sawing action when needed The Flashlight is a compact and 100% waterproof module. It features a brilliant white LED driven by 3 x button cell batteries. It is activated by twisting the barrel and can be used with knife open or closed. There is a small water tigh compartment behind the torch that can be used to hold other small emergency items, like a match. There is even a built in emergency whistle that will emit a piercing tone when needed in a real emergency. Comes in an attractive steel presentation box. The handle is made from aircraft grade aluminum, and has Kraton® rubber inserts on the side and on the top that are molded through the aluminum. GERBER E-Z-Out Rescue and Utility Knives (Easy Out) Continuing its commitment to specialty, high performance knives, Gerber is now manufacturing a Rescue and Utility version of the E-Z-Out™. Each has a serrated sheepsfoot blade made of high carbon stainless steel. This blade shape with its rounded down tip is ideal for safe use around people and items where puncture with a standard sharp blade point is a concern. The sheepsfoot blade is also ideal as a utility tool, providing the maximum amount of straight blade surface for general cutting tasks. Each knife features a yellow handle with black Kraton® rubber inserts. The EZ Out Rescue has the last 1/4 inch of its blade non-serrated and unsharpened to make the blade safer to use around people, rafts, or other situations where accidental puncture or cutting may be a concern. The E-Z Out Utility has the same blade, only the last 1/4 inch is fine edge and sharpened for precise cutting chores such as scoring or cutting materials where specific lines must be followed. The EZ-Out Rescue and Utility will have all of the innovative features that have made the standard E-Z Out such a huge success in the knife industry. Gerber E-Z Out knives feature an oval slot in the blade for easy one-handed opening, right or left handed. The handles are made from a mineral filled nylon. This makes a knife handle that is more durable than a typical brass and wood handle, but is many times lighter. Kraton® rubber inserts are molded into the handle, not glued. This process prevents them from ever coming out on their own or with normal wear and tear. These inserts provide extra gripping surface for opening and use.
